Client: National Australian Pharmacy Students’ Association (NAPSA)
Brief: Design a logo for NAPSA’s bid to host the 52nd World Congress of the International Pharmaceutical Students Federation (IPSF), which would later be used for the congress itself.
Tools: Adobe Illustrator CS
Type: Myriad Pro
Notes: The three-fish motif represents the fish sculptures in Cairns Esplanade Swimming Lagoon and symbolises the “reef, rainforest, outback” catchline of the congress bid.

Notes: Corporate typefaces of individual branches were used where one was specified (e.g. Myriad Pro, Helvetica, Eurostile).

Brief: Design and edit the yearbook for the USyd pharmacy class of 2005.

Notes: The cover motif representing USyd Pharmacy was an original design (using the lion from the university’s Arms). My template was subsequently used by Perlon Leung for the 2006 yearbook.

Brief: Design a logo for SUPA’s bid to host the 2008 National Australian Pharmacy Students’ Association (NAPSA) Congress, which would later be used for the congress itself.

Notes: The Sydney Opera House motif represents Sydney, the sky blue colour of the bubble represents New South Wales.

Brief: Design a new gi patch for SUJC and create an advertisement for publication in student bulletin The Bull.

Notes: Gi patch based around the Sydney University Sport and Fitness logo (c. 2008), as permitted for affiliated clubs. Complementary Japanese type was incorporated to reflect the sport’s origins.

Brief: Redesign the dispensing labels used by the hospital’s pharmacy department to replace the previous generic design.

Brief: Create a vector version of the MedSoc logo.

Notes: Vector version loosely based on 1965 version, but with significantly updated geometries and colour palette. Original design by Professor Sir Thomas Anderson Stuart (c. 1880s).

Brief: Create a MedSoc logo variant incorporating its name.

Notes: Developed in late-2009, in order to address the ongoing issue that MedSoc’s logo doesn’t actually incorporate the name of the organisation.

Notes: This was quite an international project: I was in Hong Kong at the time (thus was limited to my 13″ MacBook to produce the design/artwork), MedSoc president Jon Noonan was in New York (I emailed the file to him for approval), and once finalised it was sent to a company back in Australia to be printed.

Brief: Create a research poster to present our preliminary study findings.

Notes: This poster was displayed at the Australian and New Zealand Association of Neurologists (ANZAN) Annual Scientific Meeting 2014 in Adelaide. I doubt that anyone else at a neurology conference would typeset a poster in Helvetica Neue Light!
